Ever since I entered the work force last May, Jim has become more dominant with caring for the girls. Even on my days off, Jim still usually makes the day-to-day decisions for the girls. I follow the schedule that works best for him. We've kept the girls out of daycare so far, which has meant a lot to us. We're able to avoid illnesses, and we're able to have peace of mind knowing the person watching them loves them. Jim is an amazing Daddy, and the girls have lots of fun with him on a daily basis. He really does a great job with them; I'm very thankful to have a husband like him.
For a while now, the girls have been making a hysterical face at me. It's kind of a shocked and surprised, "OH" face. Jim taught it to them. Apparently all three of them make the face at each other, which makes them laugh. They've let me join in on the joke, and all of us laugh for a good five minutes. The girls make the face for about five seconds, and then start giggling. In Jubilee's picture, she is actually looking at Jim and making the face.
The girls' vocabulary has been expanding. Jubilee's favorite phase is, "It's a baby"; she has become our little mommy. She loves carrying a baby doll around; however, she calls any stuffed animal a baby. She'll point to something and say, "It's a baby!". She also acts like a mommy to Sunny and sometimes Katie. If Sunny starts barking or Katie continues to do something after being told no, Jubilee will run over to them, point her finger and say, "Stop It". Jubilee also has a play telephone dialogue that we go through. She will hand me her toy phone and say "Hello". I say "Hello" into the phone, and then Jubilee will say, "Hi". I then ask, "Is this Jubilee?". She then shakes her head yes and says, "Mm-hmm". We go through this a few times until Jubilee giggles and walks away.
Katie has more of a mimicking vocabulary. She will repeat back what is said. That's how she learned the name, "Elmo". She loves watching Sesame Street, and Elmo is her favorite character. She loves wearing her blue jacket with Elmo on it. She says Elmo, and it sounds something like "Lelmo". Katie's favorite song is the, "Itsy, Bitsy Spider". She will come up to me with her fingers up on her chest, and she'll say, "Itsy Spyer". We will sing the song together, and she loves the "wash the spider out" hand-motion. After the song is over she will exclaim, "YAY" and clap her hands. Katie has also started answering every question with a head shake and say, "Mm-hmm". For instance if she's climbing on the couch, I'll look at her and ask, "Katie, are you being safe?". She'll respond back "Mm-hmm". They are both so much fun to be around. Watching them discover the world is a lot of fun!
