Happy Easter!

We had a lot of fun celebrating Easter this year!  We woke up early and opened up Easter baskets.  The girls received their first lip-gloss.  We went to church and had a nice time even though the weather was a little bit cooler than usual.  When we got home, I made a traditional Easter lunch, including ham.  We met Londtco for dinner at Frijoles.

The girls seemed to understand the real reason behind Easter this year.  Both girls came up to me at different times and said that "Jesus died on the cross for me" (with very serious faces).  We made Resurrection Rolls, which are basically crescent rolls wrapped around a marshmallow that has been dipped in brown sugar and cinnamon.  The marshmallow signified Jesus' body.  Once the rolls were done cooking, the marshmallow had melted.  This meant that the rolls were "empty", just like the tomb!  It was a yummy and educational treat.

Jimmy's first Easter was fun for him.  He was happy to sit and watch everyone else running around.  He received a little wand that lights up, which he seems to have a lot of fun with.  He is almost crawling; he can unintentionally go backwards.

Texas Bluebonnets

Well, I don't know if this officially makes us "Texan", but we took pictures in bluebonnets.  All of the kids cooperated pretty well.  I kept asking people at work where to get these amazing bluebonnet pictures, and everyone kept telling me that you just pull off the side of the highway and take them (which seemed a little crazy to me!).  Anyway, a friend from BSF told me about a spot that she went to that was further away from traffic.  I easily found the spot, and the girls really loved seeing the beautiful flowers.  I also "might" have bribed them ice cream for smiles.lol.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Jim and I met 7 years ago on St. Patrick's Day.  To mark the celebration, I made some of Jim's favorite foods: meatloaf and apple pie.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Jimmy's first time sitting on grass.
