First Ballet Class

The girls have always loved dancing.  They especially love dancing to the movie "Fantasia".  A few months ago, the girls started asking to go to "ballet class" and to have a "ballet teacher".  I asked my mom, and I was the same age as the girls when I started taking ballet lessons.  I asked around, and Heidi, my sister-in-law, had a great dance studio in mind.  We took the girls to their first ballet class last week, and they loved it!  I was surprised by how well they listened and how well they tried to do the right dance moves.  Hopefully, their enthusiasm stays up for the rest of the season until their recital!

Christmas Card 2015

Christmas Festivities

Christmas was like a week-long occasion for us this year.  The girls were participants in a live nativity at church.  We celebrated Jim's birthday, and we also had a nice visit with Granny and Aunt Kristen.

Katie and Jubilee were sheep in the preschool live nativity at church on Christmas Eve.  Their cousins, Hannah and Lizzy, were also in the production.  Hannah was also a sheep, and Lizzy was an angel.  It was so cute and comical.  Jubilee sat down next to Mary on the bench, which caused Hannah to tell on her to the narrator. At one point Katie took baby Jesus.  I think participating did reiterate to the girls the reason for the holiday.  They still play "Mary and Joseph" at home sometimes.

Right after the Christmas Eve service, we headed over to Joe and Heidi's house to celebrate Jim's birthday.  He (and soon-to-be me) is officially in the older half of his twenties.

The girls were excited for Santa this year.  We went and visited him this year at the mall.  Both of the girls asked to go see him.  They loved their presents, and Jimmy enjoyed watching the girls open up their presents.  He pleasantly sat in his bumbo seat and tried to eat the wrapping paper.  Heidi's mom, Carla, invited us over to celebrate Christmas with them.  We had a nice time with them, and it was nice to be around family when ours is mainly in Indiana.

The next week Granny and Aunt Kristen came to visit us.  Everyone was excited to see them!  Granny watched some of the kids, and the adults were able to go the new Star Wars.  On the last day we all went to the Ft. Worth Zoo.  It was a little chilly, but we still got some great views of the animals!

Thanksgiving

The week of Thanksgiving my Mom came and visited us.  We had a great visit, and she was able to meet Jimmy.  I took Katie with me to the airport to pick Mom up.  She was so excited to see my Mom.  She kept saying how silly "Mamaw Cheri" was.  One of the highlights of the visit was the first time she held Jimmy.  I handed him to her, and he got a huge smile on his face.  One second after that, he proceeded to puke all over Mom's face and shirt. Everyone, including the girls, laughed and thought it was funny.  We also decorated our Christmas tree while Mom was here.  I'm so glad that my mom was able to visit with us!

3-months-old

In November Jimmy turned three months old.  I haven't been updating the blog because it wasn't letting me upload pictures, so I would get discouraged.  However, I think I have figured out how to fix the problem.  At three-months-old, Jimmy boy could already roll over both ways.  He wasn't a great sleeper (and he still sometimes isn't), but he was very pleasant and very smiley during the day.  I wasn't surprised when we got some great pictures of him smiling during his three-month photo shoot!

Halloween

Our first Halloween in Texas was a lot of fun.  We went over to Heidi's sister's house.  Jimmy was a caterpillar, and the girls were Disney princesses.  This was the first year that I let the girls pick out what they wanted to be (I wanted them to be butterflies to match Jimmy).  Jubilee was Rapunzel, and Katie was Aurora.  The girls got into the spirit of Halloween and asked me almost every day of October if they could go trick-or-treating, sometimes they'd ask if it was time for the costume party yet.  Jimmy behaved very well and slept through most of the festivities.
