Toddler Beds

As April has loomed closer, we had been thinking that the girls were ready for their cribs to be converted to toddler beds.  With potty training looming and with me being pregnant (it's hard for me to lift the girls in and out of the bed...they never figured out how to climb in and out of the crib), we decided that this week was an optimal time.  With this change, we dreaded certain things.  The main thing being that the girls could be free to move about their room without supervision.

Yesterday was the day we  had agreed on for the conversion to happen.  Naturally, they loved their new beds.  Katie kept telling Jim, "Thank you, Daddy.  I like it".  They also quickly realized they could get in and out of the beds as they pleased. We decided beforehand that I would lay in their room with them until they calmed down/went to sleep that night.  Jubilee laid down and fell asleep in less than five minutes.  Katie took maybe ten minutes.  They stayed in their beds the entire night = ).  The only difference was that Katie got out of bed around 7 am, which is early for her.  Jubilee slept until their normal of 10 am.  Naptime went well today too.  Hopefully, this transition won't be as big of a deal as Jim and I had thought it would be.

With the earlier mention of potty training, I'll mention how that's going.  Katie has started telling me almost 100% of the time when she needs to go number two.  She usually just happens to go pee after she's done going number two.  She's been doing this for about a week.  She's still not close to being out of diapers because she still doesn't realize when she's peeing.  Jubilee hasn't really done anything exciting, other than she is now not refusing to sit on the potty after Katie.  I'm hoping Jubilee will be inspired by Katie going potty.  I have caught Jubilee while she was trying to go number two, and we have caught the tail-end of it.  This is a lot closer for both of them than they were even one month ago.  Hopefully, progress will continue!
