2015

It has been a while since I have posted, but I am definitely still here.  The holidays were a very nice blur to us. We are very excited to start this New Year.

Thanksgiving we spent in Albion, Indiana with Jim's family.  We had a lot of fun seeing cousins on that side.  The girls, I think, are really starting to learn who their family members are. We also had a nice visit with Jim's brother, Joe, and his family.  The day after Thanksgiving we put our Christmas tree up, which I think is a tradition I might try and get to every year.

Christmas was also a fun holiday.  We celebrated Jim's birthday on Christmas Eve, per his usual request of a homemade meal and cake.  This year he requested coney dogs and a jello cake.  Our annual tradition of having the girls open up a Christmas book and PJs on Christmas Eve continued.  We had to wake the girls up early on Christmas morning because we were going to Indianapolis to visit my family.  The girls were slow to wake up until I told them that Santa had came and brought them presents.  Both of them immediately jumped up after that.  This was the first year the girls "got" that opening presents meant new toys.  It was a lot of fun to watch them.  We had a lot of fun visiting my family.  We visited my mom, dad, and spent the night at my grandparent's house.  The next day some of us went to one of my favorite restaurants, "The Mayberry Cafe".

The holidays were a great reminder to us of what is important: family.  As the girls grow older, Jim and I have already found ourselves reminiscing over past holidays as a family.  We're looking forward to all of the blessings that 2015 has to offer.
