Easter

It is hard to believe that even though the girls are not one quite yet, they have experienced two Easters!  Last year the girls were born on Good Friday, and we left the hospital on Easter.  We were able to celebrate Easter with both sides of our families.

On Saturday we celebrated with Holly's family, and on Sunday we celebrated with Jim's family.  We had a lot of delicious food.  The girls ate ham for the first time, and I was surprised they both gobbled it up!  We had a nice surprise of warm weather, considering that the previous Sunday we had a snow storm.

The girls are still a little too young to actually "hunt" Easter eggs, but they did have a lot of fun shaking them!  We had a great Easter service at church.  We did have a little problem with Katiebug's dress.  On Saturday we noticed that her original Easter dress had a run on the bottom.  I was hesitant to put her in the dress on Sunday, so I picked out another dress we had.  On Sunday she had a huge number two, probably caused by the ham.  Luckily, I had a spare dress just in case.  Katie wore three Easter dresses!

Even though the girls do not understand us, I still explained the real importance of Easter to them while getting ready for church.  The only response I got was from Katie, and she simply replied back ,"baby" (her new favorite word).

Nashville

This past weekend Jim's family ventured to Nashville, TN for his cousin, Grant's, wedding.  The trip included Jim's parents, Gnap family, Kristen, and Londt Squared (I have started calling the four of us that).  We left early Saturday morning.  We actually arrived early!!!  We were early enough to take a pit-stop at the Bass Pro Shop that was very close to the Grand Ole Opry.  My goal for the trip included seeing the Grand Ole Opry...I didn't need to go in...just drive by it!  At the Bass Pro Shop, they were selling fresh kettle corn.  I normally do not like kettle corn, but this kettle corn was amazing.

The wedding was a beautiful ceremony, and the reception was a lot of fun!  We had a delicious meal.  All of the cousins had a lot of fun dancing with each other.  Kendall and Jubilee had a lot of fun dancing together.  Katie, who has recently preferred walking over crawling, just wanted to walk all over the dance floor.  We had a lot of fun this weekend!  On the way home we stopped in Indianapolis and ate at the Rathskeller.  It is a restaurant with German cuisine. It was DELICIOUS!!  It was my first time eating schnitzel; it was very tasty.

It was a quick, relaxing weekend get-away.  We didn't cram too much in one weekend.  It was nice to be able to get away for a celebration.

Our "Toddlers"

Here's the girls "toddling"!  I do apologize for the mess.  It was closes to bedtime, and the girls tend to cause mass destruction to the living room throughout the day!

Completion

On Monday morning at 8 o'clock AM I took the NCLEX-RN.  I spent the first night away from the girls the night before.  Susan came and assisted James in taking care of the girls the night before, and she watched them during the test.  I spent the night at my grandparents because they were about ten minutes away from the testing center.  I only called James every two hours, and he let me talk to them on the phone.  Of course the only discernible phrase they could say was, "Dada".

The test was very hard.  The NCLEX is known as a "computer adaptable test" (CAT).  As one gets questions right, the questions get harder and vice versa.  One receives a minimum of 75 questions with a maximum of 265.  Once the test has determined where your "level of competency" is, you're done.  I had 80-something questions, and it only took one of the six hours given to us.  I knew I had done either really well or horribly.  I was a nervous wreck the rest of the day.

On Tuesday morning before BSF, I checked the Indiana State Board of Nursing's website.  Next to my name was a license number!!  I knew that I had passed because only those who are RNs have a license number.  I didn't have an official verification, but I knew I had passed.  Later that day I received an official email saying that I passed!!!  I can now sign my name Holly Londt, RN, BSN (Bachelor's of Science in Nursing).  My name has changed a lot in four years!  I cannot take any of the credit.  Without God it wouldn't have happened.

Another amazing thing that happened that night was Jubilee started taking multiple steps at a time!  She was holding onto a wagon , and James was trying to get her to walk to him.  She took four little steps to get to him.  I had noticed her taking one step independently from point A to point B a few days prior.  Her personal best that I've observed is 6 steps.  She usually gains too much excitement and tries to speed up and tumbles.  Katiebug should follow pretty soon!

Laundry Helpers

As our girls quickly approach the age of one, they have definitely learned the daily rituals of life. The number one ritual they probably observe is LAUNDRY! I do it every day. The girls probably discovered the washer and dryer in December. They used to passively watch me load the washer/dryer; however, they now like to "help" me. Jubilee's main way of assisting is to throw out the clothes I just put in. Katie's main way of helping is by yelling into the washer/dryer, which is pretty funny. One way the girls work together is by standing in front of the appliance, fighting to be in the middle. This usually results in one of the girls using the other as leverage to get closer, which results in crying. I even witnessed a little bit of hair pulling this afternoon (no names.lol)!

Their funny antics don't stop at using the washer/dryer, but they continue during the folding and putting away process. I usually try to fold clothes when the girls are sleeping, but sometimes I go ahead and fold clothes when they are awake. The girls will crawl over clothes that were just folded, or they will throw clothes out of the laundry basket for entertainment.

Here is a video of Katie that was filmed in January. It shows her giving an inspirational speech to the dryer.
